Bodywork

Holding on is believing there's only a past. Letting go is knowing there's a future.

-Daphne Rose Kingma

Bodywork focuses on relaxing a person’s body, mind and spirit,

allowing for emotional release, mental clarity, a sense of expansive presence and a lightness in the body.

The feelings associated with stress and anxiety for extended periods

of time often translate into physical manifestations.

Bodywork is beneficial for clients who are looking

for a way to enhance their emotional well-being,

and it is part of a larger holistic philosophy.

Bodywork is designed to systemically engage

the somatic patterns, emotional or traumatic memories

stored in our tissues from postural & behavioral adaptations

and facilitates the release of those energetic and physical constraints,

as well as loosening dense muscle tissue

and enhancing well being.

Vagal Nerve Trauma Release Bodywork

All human beings have three lives: public, private, and secret.
― Gabriel García Márquez

When something frightening or devastating happens,

expecting anyone to “just get over it”

can cause emotional and physical trauma that leave aftershocks in the body

that can result in a vast range of physical ailments and disorders,

such as digestive disorders, chronic pain, sleep disorders, and headaches.

Trauma looks different for everyone; it includes any event or series of events

that are harmful or that a person perceives as threatening.

The emotional response to the event is a key indicator of trauma

whether it happens immediately,

or presents itself long after the situation ends.

Some examples:

  • Natural Disasters     Prolonged Illness     Rape or Sexual Assault

  • Military or Wartime Experiences     Community Violence

  •   Domestic Violence     Narcissistic Abuse Recovery

  • Neglect or Physical Abuse     Betrayal     Robbery or Other Crime

  •      Religious Extremism       PTSD       C-PTSD

  • Unexpected death of a loved one

Vagal Nerve Trauma Release seeks to help the nervous system regulate itself

to move out of the constant state of hyper-vigilance as well as

releasing tension brought on by this state of fight or flight.
